In 2025, Uzbekistan aims to create jobs for 5.2 million individuals.

In Uzbekistan, it is planned to create jobs for 5.2 million people by 2025, with 3 million of those positions being facilitated by banks. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been briefed on this plan.
В 2025 году в Узбекистане ожидается создание 5,2 миллиона рабочих мест.

To achieve this goal, 208 districts and cities have signed cooperation agreements with banks. Specific performance indicators have been established for each mahalla. As part of the "Mahalla Project," $1 billion in credit resources has been allocated between banks and regions. Heads of district banks have received performance targets for project development, loan issuance, and employment promotion.

The Central Bank and its deputies will visit the regions to optimize the operations of bank branches in mahallas. By February 1, 2025, special departments will be established at district bank branches to work with mahallas. Each mahalla will have designated "mahalla bankers" and selected assistants for interaction with them.

Banks, in collaboration with hokimiyats, will present business projects to the population and provide training on their implementation. To monitor the achievement of objectives, the information systems online-mahalla.uz, bank-kredit.uz, and soliq.uz will be integrated.

It is worth noting that at the beginning of November last year, the unemployment rate in Uzbekistan among the working-age population decreased by 1 percentage point compared to the beginning of the year, from 6.8% to 5.8%.

Previously, Kun.uz reported that state banks would allocate $50 million to support startups in mahallas.
