A rare brown bear listed in the Red Book was killed in Bostanlyk.

In the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region, a Tien Shan brown bear, listed in Uzbekistan's Red Book, has been killed. This information was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the country.

During a raid on the territory of the "Ahsarskoy" section of the Burchmullin State Forest, an animal hide was discovered.

Following this, the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences conducted an analysis of the evidence and determined that it belonged to the Tian Shan brown bear.

"Unknown individuals killed the bear using a rope, taking all parts of the animal's body and leaving the hide at the scene," states the report.

The brown bear is classified as a vulnerable species and is listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan as a widely but mosaic-distributed subspecies. Hunting for the Tian Shan brown bear is strictly prohibited in the country.

The information gathered regarding this case has been forwarded to law enforcement agencies. Necessary legal actions will be taken based on the investigation's results.
