New deputy governors have been appointed in the Jizzakh region.

Recently appointed Deputy Minister Zafar Azimov has been transferred to the position of Deputy Hokim of the region for economic affairs. Former Hokim of Kashkadarya region, Zafar Ruziev, has taken on the role of Deputy Hokim for agricultural matters.

The press service of the Jizzakh region's khokimiyat reported on personnel changes.

Zafar Abdumajidovich Azimov has been appointed the first deputy khokim of the region for financial and economic issues and poverty reduction, as well as the head of the Main Department of Economy and Finance of the region.

Zafar Azimov was born in 1985 in Samarkand. Previously, he held the position of deputy chairman of the board of "Khalq Bank" and on December 11, 2024, was appointed the first deputy minister of employment and poverty reduction. He worked in this role for just over two weeks before being transferred to his new position, succeeding Abduvalijon Mustanov, who had been in the role since 2021.

Additionally, Zafar Sharopovich Ruziev has been appointed deputy khokim for agriculture and water management issues, as well as the head of the regional agriculture department.

Zafar Ruziev was born in 1964 in the Kashkadarya region, in the Kitab district. From 2013 to 2019, he served as the khokim of Kashkadarya region, and later was appointed khokim of the Zarbdar district in Jizzakh region.

In his new position, he replaced Oybek Ashurmatov, who had been in the role since October 2019. Notably, Ruziev previously took the position of khokim of the Zarbdar district also after Ashurmatov.

It is worth mentioning that Ergash Saliev, who led the Jizzakh region since 2017, was removed from his position on December 19, 2024. He was succeeded by Ulugbek Mustafaev, who previously served as the chairman of the board of "Hududiy Elektr Tarmoklari."
