According to the Emergency Situations Ministry, provided by Kun.uz , among the family members who died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Mangistau, only the head of the family was a citizen of Uzbekistan.
Earlier, it was reported that in the village of Baskuduk, seven people from one family died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning. The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations provided additional information about the victims of the tragedy.
On March 2, a mass carbon monoxide poisoning occurred in Baskuduk. Rescuers and medics who arrived at the scene discovered the bodies of seven individuals, five of whom were minors.
According to the Emergency Situations Ministry, only the head of the family was a citizen of Uzbekistan. He was married to a citizen of Kazakhstan, and they had five children. The man resided in Kazakhstan on the basis of a residence permit.
A commission has been established to determine the causes of the tragedy, chaired by the deputy akim of the Mangistau region.
"Relatives of the deceased will receive comprehensive assistance, including in organizing the funerals. The situation is under the personal control of the akim of the region," the statement said.
