The girl was transported to Tashkent City Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1 on December 9, presenting with complaints of fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. Following an initial examination, doctors diagnosed her with "pneumonia," and she was admitted to the neonatal unit in serious condition.
Further tests revealed complications, including sepsis, as well as congenital heart defects and respiratory failure. During treatment, the infant developed thromboembolism and acute circulatory failure, necessitating the urgent amputation of both arms with parental consent.
The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan has taken control of the situation, and an internal investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances surrounding the incident. Additional details are expected to be published following the conclusion of the investigation.
