A gas explosion occurred in a building on Makhtumquli Street in Tashkent.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported an explosion of gas that occurred in the Yashnabad district.

According to the agency, on February 26 at 17:37, the Tashkent Department of Internal Affairs received a report about an explosion of a gas-air mixture in the kitchen of an apartment in a multi-story building located on Makhtumquli Street in the "Dustobod" neighborhood of the Yashnabad district.

Fire and rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene. No fire followed.

As a result of the explosion, one person sustained burns and was hospitalized. Medical personnel, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Department of Internal Affairs, the prosecutor's office, and other agencies arrived at the scene.

"Currently, a preliminary investigation is underway regarding this incident," the statement says.

It is worth noting that in mid-February, an explosion occurred in one of the houses in the Gijduvan district of the Bukhara region. Due to a gas leak from the heating stove, gas accumulated in the room, and when the light was turned on, an explosion occurred. As a result, one person died.
