Illegal drug trafficking has been disrupted in five regions of the country.

In the Samarkand region, a Nexia vehicle was stopped . During the inspection, 7 kg 230 g of hashish and 1 kg 289 g of methamphetamine were found with passenger E.M., residing in the Pakhtachin district. Preliminary investigations revealed that the drugs were smuggled into the country by Afghan drug traffickers.

In the Urgut district, two previously convicted individuals, F.K. born in 1986 and Sh.A. born in 1999, were apprehended while attempting to sell 921 g of opium, which was smuggled from Tajikistan, for $12,000.

In the city of Namangan, citizens Sh.Y. born in 1995 and A.Y., along with Sh.K. born in 1994, were detained. They attempted to retrieve 3 kg 50 g of hashish, previously hidden by Tajik drug traffickers in a field in the Chust district.

In another incident, a Lacetti car was stopped on the Namangan–Andijan highway in the Naryn district. Passenger F.K., a previously convicted individual residing in the Asakinsky district, was found with 1 kg 911 g of hashish. The preliminary investigation indicated that the drugs were transported from Kyrgyzstan to the Uchkurgan district of the Namangan region via indirect routes.

In the Denaus district of the Surkhandarya region, previously convicted citizen B.B. born in 1990 was arrested while attempting to sell 2 kg 16 g of opium, brought in from Tajikistan, for $10,000.

Criminal cases have been initiated in all instances under articles 246 (Smuggling) and 273 (Illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage, and transfer of narcotic substances, their analogs, or psychotropic substances with the intent to distribute) of the Criminal Code. An investigation is ongoing.
