According to court documents, Ibo Yusuf, born in 2000, was employed by the airline Turkish Airlines. On November 19, 2024, he purchased a combat cartridge labeled "24 SAR P9" in Istanbul and placed it in his bag.
On November 24, he arrived in Samarkand on the "Istanbul-Samarkand" flight. During customs control, the officers discovered the cartridge that he attempted to smuggle.
The cartridge was confiscated and documented as evidence. An examination determined that it was a 9mm round, manufactured in a factory, suitable for use in "Yargin" (Grach) and "Glock" model pistols.
In court, Ibo Yusuf fully admitted his guilt. He stated that he purchased 10 cartridges for use at the shooting range but accidentally left one in his bag, of which he was unaware.
The court found him guilty under part 1 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (smuggling). As a punishment, according to Article 57 of the Criminal Code, he was fined 100 basic calculation amounts (37.5 million sums).
