A small hydropower plant, "Zarchob-2A," with a capacity of 3 MW, has been launched in the Surkhandarya region.
In the Surkhandarya region, the small hydroelectric power station "Zarchob-2A" has been commissioned at the Tupalang reservoir cascade, as reported by the regional administration.

The launch of this small hydropower plant will save up to 4 million cubic meters of natural gas annually.
The construction cost of the power station amounted to $3.4 million. It is worth noting that in August 2024, the small hydropower plant "Zarchob-1A" was launched, and currently, the construction of the hydropower plant "Zarchob-3," with a capacity of 16 MW and a hydro unit, is ongoing at the cascade.
According to the regional hokimiat, by the end of 2025, the total capacity of all power stations at the Tupalang Reservoir cascade will reach 300 MW. Over the past eight years, the production of eco-friendly energy in the region has increased 20 times.
