The construction of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent is nearing completion.

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has reviewed the final stages of construction for the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent. This information was reported by the president's press service.
В Ташкенте завершается строительство Центра исламской цивилизации.

The center consists of three floors and is designed in the style of ancient architectural monuments, featuring a traditional dome and facade adorned with national ornaments. Portals standing 34 meters tall are installed on all four sides of the complex, while the central dome reaches a height of 65 meters.

Inside the center will be a Quran hall, housing a priceless relic of the Islamic world – the oldest Mus'haf of Uthman. Additionally, copies of the holy book from the eras of the Samanids, Karakhanids, Khwarezmshahs, Uzbek Khan, Timurids, and other historical dynasties will be showcased, including translations into Old Uzbek, as well as rare handwritten copies of the Quran from around the world.

“Many books, ancient manuscripts, unique information, and works of art related to our rich and unique heritage have been scattered across various countries and remained unknown to us for a long time. Thanks to this center, we have made significant strides in studying history by discovering new sources,” emphasized the country’s leader.

The head of state noted that “it is important not only to preserve them as monuments of the past but also to bring them into active scientific circulation, to convey them to citizens, especially the youth, in an accessible manner, and to present them widely to the global community.”

The complex will feature sections on “Pre-Islamic Civilizations,” “The Era of the First Renaissance,” “The Era of the Second Renaissance,” “Uzbekistan in the 20th Century,” and “New Uzbekistan – New Renaissance.” The history of these periods will be presented through various artifacts, manuscript sources, photographs, and multimedia technologies.

This center actively collaborates with leading international scientific organizations, including UNESCO and ICESCO. The VIII International Congress, dedicated to the theme “The Heritage of Great Ancestors – The Foundation of the Third Renaissance,” took place in Tashkent and Samarkand in August 2024. The congress gathered around 200 scholars from 35 countries, and within its framework, valuable ideas for the further development of the center were proposed.
