During the forum, participants were provided with information about the favorable conditions created for foreign investors in Uzbekistan, the mechanisms for protecting their rights and interests, as well as the significant industrial and investment potential of the country. Special emphasis was placed on successful examples of collaboration with French companies in sectors such as energy, mining, water supply, transportation, and tourism.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojaev highlighted the rapid development of economic relations between the two countries, which are showing a high growth dynamic. Over the past seven years, bilateral trade turnover has increased nearly fivefold, reaching $1.13 billion.
The number of French companies operating in Uzbekistan has quadrupled, and currently, there are 50 enterprises with French investments active in the republic, involved in construction, agriculture, tourism, and other fields.
Considering the high potential for further development of economic cooperation, French entrepreneurs were invited to participate in the implementation of new promising projects. The open format of discussions allowed participants to present their initiatives and voice proposals on a number of key areas.
The forum concluded with bilateral meetings in B2B and B2G formats, during which business representatives discussed the prospects for implementing investment and trade agreements, as well as establishing new business contacts.
