In Tashkent Region, a truck fatally struck a person sitting on the road.
On the 53rd kilometer of the A373 Guliston - Buka - Akhangaran road, which runs through the Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region, a truck driver struck and killed a person sitting on the road and then fled the scene, according to the Traffic Safety Department.

The day after the incident, the suspect and the vehicle were found .
"I was driving in the right lane at night at a speed of 60 km/h. The individual was sitting slightly off the line. There were some objects scattered ahead. With about 5 meters to go, I tried to swerve, thinking I wouldn’t hit anything," the driver recounts.
A case has been opened regarding the incident under articles 117 (abandonment in danger) and 266 (violation of traffic rules or vehicle operation) of the Criminal Code. The suspect has been detained and placed in custody as a preventive measure.
