The Turkish consulate warns of a rise in scams promising to send Uzbekistan citizens to the U.S.

Recently, the number of fraud-related crimes in Turkey has risen. Certain individuals and legal entities are promising citizens of Uzbekistan assistance in obtaining visas for European countries or relocating to the USA for permanent residence in exchange for large sums of money, reports the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.

It has been noted that trusting citizens face serious issues: they end up in other countries, primarily in Asia and Africa, where they find themselves in difficult situations.

“Just recently, another compatriot who believed the fraudsters and ended up in a dire situation in African and Latin American countries with her child was sent back to Uzbekistan with the help of the Consulate,” the message states.

Diplomats reminded about the dangerous consequences of illegal migration:

• fraudsters may steal your money;

• documents could be seized illegally;

• there is a high risk of being stranded abroad without documents and facing legal issues;

• possible criminal liability;

• deportation and lengthy entry bans.

“For legal travel to the USA or European countries, only contact official authorized bodies. Do not trust individuals who promise visas or illegal relocation for money. Never hand over your documents to strangers,” the warning emphasizes.

Previously, Uzbekistan citizens in Turkey had already been warned about criminal groups promising easy money.
