Uzbekistan has increased the recycling fee for electric vehicles.

The government of Uzbekistan has approved an increase in the recycling fee for electric vehicles (HS Code 8703 80). The relevant resolution from the Cabinet of Ministers was published on January 31.

For vehicles younger than three years — 120 BRV (45 million sums).

For vehicles older than three years — 210 BRV (78.75 million sums).

This regulation applies exclusively to electric vehicles that operate solely on electric engines, while hybrid vehicles are not included.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance, in collaboration with the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, has been tasked with developing a procedure for the collection and effective use of the recycling fee within two months.

The increased rates of the recycling fee will come into effect on May 1, 2025.

Previously, from August 1, 2020, the recycling fee for electric vehicles was set at 30 BRV (for those younger than three years) and 90 BRV (for those older than three years).
