The statement was made against the backdrop of widespread information circulated on February 20 on social media regarding the long queue for registering mobile devices brought by passengers in the UzIMEI system at the arrival hall of Tashkent International Airport.
Following this incident, the Customs Committee provided comments, emphasizing that passengers are not required to register their mobile devices directly at the airport.
“Passengers can register their mobile devices in the UzIMEI system at a convenient time within 30 days after entering Uzbekistan, while foreigners have 60 days,” the message states (https://t.me/husantangriyev/4060).
It was also noted that a series of technical measures have been implemented to integrate the Customs Committee's database with the UzIMEI system, facilitating faster information exchange.
“Work has begun on implementing online passenger customs declaration filling, as well as developing mobile applications for this purpose,” the statement highlights.
It is specified that in the coming days, online declaration filling will commence in test mode, and info kiosks for this procedure will be installed in the departure halls of international airports.
