On the first day of the new year, 1,641 babies were born in Uzbekistan.

The highest number of births has been recorded in the Fergana region, which includes 23 sets of twins among the newborns.

On January 1, 2025, a total of 1,641 infants were born in Uzbekistan, reports the press service of the Ministry of Health.

Among those born, there were 796 boys and 845 girls.

The highest number of births was recorded in the Fergana region (244).

The number of births in other regions is as follows:

  • Samarkand region — 186,
  • Kashkadarya region — 181,
  • Surkhandarya region — 172,
  • Tashkent region — 150,
  • Tashkent city — 139,
  • Andijan region — 90,
  • Jizzakh region — 87,
  • Bukhara region — 86,
  • Khorezm region — 83,
  • Republic of Karakalpakstan — 71,
  • Namangan region — 65,
  • Syrdarya region — 45,
  • Navoi — 42.

Among the newborns, there were 23 pairs of twins (a total of 47 children): 22 pairs of twins (44 children) and one set of triplets (3 children).

"During the weekends, along with other medical institutions, doctors continue to work in maternity complexes. Specifically, during the holidays, 6,192 obstetricians, gynecologists, neonatologists, midwives, and nurses are on duty across the republic," the statement said.
