Uzbekistan will introduce penalties for deviating from designated travel routes.

The bill aimed at enhancing the system of state control in the transport sector has already been approved in its first reading by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

The draft document proposes amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses.

The changes pertain to violations of cargo and passenger transportation rules by rail and metro, the operation of faulty tachographs for monitoring drivers' working hours and rest periods, as well as establishing liability for drivers' non-compliance with work and rest schedules.
