As part of this project, a joint venture named NASAF XCP TECHNO has been established, and the project itself has been officially launched.
The new enterprise was created through collaboration with the Chinese company Yunnan Xinchengpeng Polymer Technology, as well as Techno Cable Group, which is a member of the "Uzelttehsanoat" Association, and the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex.
The total cost of the project amounts to $8 million, with an expected production capacity of 35,000 tons of products per year. The implementation of this project will create 65 new jobs and will allow for the substitution of imports worth $30 million annually.
The production process will take place in two stages. The first stage, scheduled for March-April 2025, will focus on establishing the production and testing of cross-linked polyethylene. The second stage, planned for August-September of the same year, involves the procurement of equipment for the production of halogen-free components.
According to expert estimates, the launch of the new production will fully satisfy the domestic demand for cross-linked polyethylene, which has not been produced in Uzbekistan before. With market needs ranging from 25,000 to 30,000 tons per year, local production will meet this demand, significantly reducing dependence on imports.
Cross-linked polyethylene possesses unique properties due to the chemical or physical modification of its molecular structure, making it stronger, more elastic, and more resistant to high temperatures compared to traditional polyethylene.
This material is widely used in various fields: it is applied in the production of plumbing pipes for hot and cold water supply systems, gas pipes that withstand high pressure, and in heating systems, including underfloor heating. Additionally, it is actively used for the electrical insulation of cables.
The launch of this project will not only significantly reduce import volumes but also strengthen the industrial infrastructure of the country, creating new opportunities for the development of domestic production.
