WizzAir proposes the establishment of a joint airline in Uzbekistan.

Hungarian low-cost airline WizzAir is exploring the possibility of establishing a joint airline in Uzbekistan, as reported by the Ministry of Transport.

Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov held talks with Wizz Air CEO József Váradi and the Hungarian Ambassador to Uzbekistan József Rózsa.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the expansion of Wizz Air's routes from Uzbekistan to Europe and the organization of transit flights through Uzbekistan.

The CEO of Wizz Air expressed the company's interest in increasing flights on the Tashkent - Abu Dhabi - Tashkent route. It was proposed to establish air connections with the cities of Namangan and Urgench, as well as to explore the possibilities of creating a joint airline in Uzbekistan.

As a result of the meeting, Makhkamov suggested that Wizz Air establish direct air communication between Uzbekistan and Hungary and organize a regular flight on the Tashkent - Budapest - Tashkent route by the end of 2025.
