At just 25, Erkinjon Turdimov has set a new milestone in his remarkable political career.

Erkinjon Turdimov, a well-known public figure, was born on July 10, 1969, in the Koshrabat district of the Samarkand region.

In 1991, he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of National Economy (now the Tashkent State Economic University) with a degree in economics. He then worked in the banking sector for several years. From 2000 to 2008, he served as the hokim of the Khatyrchin district in the Navoi region.

In 2008, he was called to Tashkent and appointed as the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources. However, he soon returned to Navoi and became the hokim of the region, a position he held until 2016. From 2016 to 2018, Turdimov headed the Surkhandarya region, and from 2018 to 2024, he led the Samarkand region.

His appointment from Surkhandarya to Samarkand was particularly memorable for many, as the residents of the region received the news with regret.

“Dear citizens, I am infinitely grateful to the people of Surkhandarya. In just 1 year and 7 months, I have learned a lot from you. I consider myself indebted to the residents of Surkhandarya for life,” Turdimov stated in his farewell speech.

During his tenure in the Samarkand region, a number of significant socio-economic projects were implemented. In November 2024, he resigned due to health reasons. Just two months later, he was once again entrusted with the management of the Syrdarya region.

The 55-year-old public figure has been awarded the orders of “Mehnat Shukhrati” and “Fidokorona Xizmatlari Uchun.” He is recognized as an esteemed public figure who has achieved success in his endeavors and earned the respect of the people.
