Mirziyoyev discussed the expansion of multifaceted cooperation with the President of the European Council.

The President of Uzbekistan congratulated Antonio Costa on his election as the head of the European Council and wished him great success. He noted that in recent years, Uzbek-European multifaceted cooperation has reached unprecedented levels and continues to develop dynamically across all priority areas.

The parties expressed confidence in the prompt signing of the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU, which will give a significant boost to the development of the entire range of relations.

The leader of Uzbekistan and the head of the European Council also exchanged views on international agenda issues and regional cooperation. They discussed joint plans for the preparation and holding of the first "Central Asia – EU" summit in the city of Samarkand in April of this year.

In 2024, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and EU countries exceeded 6 billion euros, and the portfolio of projects with European companies reached 30 billion euros. In 2024, an agreement on strategic partnership in the field of critical mineral resources was signed.
