The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has instructed the development of proposals to offer citizens a cashback on a portion of the funds paid for purchasing new housing. This initiative aims to reduce the shadow economy in the sector. This was announced during a video conference meeting.

It has been emphasized that the primary focus in housing construction should be on increasing the number of modern multi-story buildings in place of old structures. Through renovation, the efficiency of land use is expected to increase by 4-5 times, while costs for utilities will be halved.
It was noted that in Jizzakh, Margilan, Kokand, Shahrihan, Karshi, the Dustlik districts, and the capital, the work has begun successfully. There is a need to extend their experience to all regions.
This year, there are plans to construct 20,000 apartments based on renovation.
