A new deputy minister of water management has been appointed in Uzbekistan.

Zakir Ishpulotov has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Water Management and Director of the Agency for the Operation of Water Management Facilities. This information was reported by the ministry's press service.

Before his appointment, Ishpulotov served as the chief specialist in the secretariat for investments, exports, trade, agriculture, and water management of the Cabinet of Ministers.

He earned a degree in hydraulic engineering, graduating in 2005 from the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration, and completed his master's degree at the same institute in 2009. Ishpulotov also holds a PhD in technical sciences.

The deputy minister – director of the agency for water resources management is tasked with ensuring water supply and the rational use of water resources based on approved limits, regulating the operation of pumping stations, and implementing measures to reduce electricity consumption.
