Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO has entered its final stage.

Uzbekistan has entered the final stage of its accession process to the World Trade Organization. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this during a meeting to review the work accomplished this year and outline key plans for 2025.

Despite the cancellation of benefits that contravene WTO rules, the government will continue to create all necessary conditions to support entrepreneurs and ensure a fair competitive environment, according to the statement.

According to recent data, Uzbekistan has completed negotiations with more than 22 countries regarding its accession to the WTO, including China and the USA.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee Mubin Mirzaev reported that Uzbekistan will have a transition period upon joining the WTO. He explained that after the country joins, VAT rates should be uniform for both imports and the domestic market.

Previously, Kun.uz wrote that former Tashkent mayor and entrepreneur Jahongir Artikhodjaev urged people not to fear Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO.
