The Senate has approved the state budget law for Uzbekistan for the year 2025.

During the second plenary session of the Senate, the law on the "State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2025" was approved.

The upper house's website states that the law aims to enhance the population's well-being, reduce poverty, improve the quality of social services, promote a "green economy," and protect the environment.

The revenues of the consolidated budget for 2025 are projected to be 431 trillion sums, while expenditures are expected to reach 480.5 trillion sums. The inflation rate is forecasted to remain around 7%. The state budget revenues are planned at 308.5 trillion sums, with expenditures set at 344.8 trillion sums.

More than half of the expenditures (52%) will be allocated to social needs. A total of 3.6 trillion sums has been earmarked for environmental protection, and 41.3 trillion sums for healthcare, which represents a 19.8% increase compared to 2024.

Senators emphasized the importance of increasing budget revenues and ensuring targeted spending of funds, as well as the necessity of creating decent living conditions, reducing poverty, and improving infrastructure.

Earlier, Kun.uz reported that the Upper House approved an increase in the external debt limit from 5 to 7.3 billion dollars.
