In the Surkhandarya region, a school vice principal is accused of assaulting a student.

It has come to light that the deputy director of a school in the Surkhandarya region is accused of sexually assaulting a minor student. The Kun.uz editorial team has information regarding the identities of both the suspect and the victim.

According to reports, the deputy director intimidated the high school student for a year while engaging in criminal activities. In September 2024, the student's parents learned of this and reported it to the authorities.

The Commissioner for Children's Rights confirmed the occurrence of the incident. Following the parents' report, an investigation was initiated in collaboration with law enforcement agencies. The deputy director has been detained as a preventive measure.

“The criminal proceedings concerning the offense against the minor are being conducted with consideration for the child's best interests. Investigative actions are taking place without disclosing details. The Commissioner for Children's Rights is monitoring the investigation within the scope of their authority,” stated a message provided by the commissioner to Kun.uz.

It has been reported that the case has been referred to court. The court hearing will take place in a closed session in the coming days.
