Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov and the Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan Takashi Hattori signed exchange notes for a loan of 22.9 billion yen (147.3 million dollars) for a healthcare project.
The funds are being provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and its president Akihiko Tanaka attended the ceremony.
The project aims to construct a Republican Specialized Scientific-Practical Medical Center for Neurology and Stroke in Tashkent and equip it with medical technology. Additionally, high-level medical facilities in Samarkand and Bukhara will receive modern equipment as part of the project.
It is expected that the implementation of the project will enhance the system for delivering quality medical services, strengthen the Center's role as a foundational educational institution for training medical personnel, and contribute to improving the health of Uzbekistan's population.
