"We need to identify alternative corridors and routes for transit through problematic countries," emphasized the head of the Ministry of Transport.
According to Makhkamov, efforts are planned to be organized in five directions, including conditions for establishing international transportation.
Additionally, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the creation of new routes for the transportation of export and import goods, as well as to provide local carriers with favorable conditions for their use.
Furthermore, the president tasked to increase the volume of transit shipments through Uzbekistan, which should reach 14.6 million tons by 2025 (+13.7%). It is expected that the volume of transit cargo on the Belarus-Pakistan route will rise to 700 thousand tons (+200 thousand), on the China-Europe route to 200 thousand tons (+50 thousand), and on the China-Afghanistan route to 150 thousand tons (+80 thousand).
Based on the presentation, it is proposed to develop the route Turkmenistan - Iran - Turkey - European Union, as well as Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Europe, among others.
