All official government websites will transition to the domain gov.uz.

Starting March 1, 2025, all government agencies and organizations in Uzbekistan will be required to enter into agreements with UzINFOCOM and manage their official websites and portals exclusively through the government portal — gov.uz. Prior to publishing information about the activities and events of ministries and departments, approval from the Prime Minister's press service will be necessary.
Все государственные учреждения перейдут на домен gov.uz для официальных сайтов.

On January 31, 2025, the government adopted a resolution titled "On Measures for Further Improvement of the Activities of Official Websites of State Authorities and Organizations." According to the document, starting March 1, 2025, the activities of official websites and portals of state authorities will be conducted exclusively on the government portal of the Republic of Uzbekistan — www.gov.uz .

UzINFOCOM, acting as the sole integrator, will enter into contracts with organizations for the technical support and maintenance of state authorities' websites on the unified platform. Expenses will be covered by off-budget funds of state authorities, budgetary funds, and other sources not prohibited by law. The funds received for services will be directed towards the development of the unified platform, technical support, and ensuring information security.

After the transfer of official websites of ministries and agencies to the unified platform, within a week, old domain addresses will be redirected to new ones, or their activities will cease while preserving data. For instance, the official website of the Ministry of Justice adliya.uz will change to https://gov.uz/adliya .

Cybersecurity and the procedure for information placement on gov.uz will be regulated by new rules

According to the government resolution, the Cybersecurity Center under the National Security Service, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Technologies, will conduct a free audit of the Unified Platform for compliance with cybersecurity requirements every six months, as well as carry out ongoing monitoring of its security.

Within a month, UzINFOCOM will host the Unified Platform in the data center of the State Institution "Center for E-Government Project Management" and create a backup that meets information security requirements.

The annex to the resolution outlines the procedure for state authorities to provide information for placement on the government portal. UzINFOCOM has been designated as responsible for portal administration, while the press services of state authorities must provide the necessary data within the timeframes established by internal documents.

Key Provisions:

  • Information approved by the Cabinet of Ministers will be posted on the Unified Platform.
  • The provided information must be current, reliable, complete, accurate, and categorized into thematic blocks.
  • The information must not contain state, military, or official secrets, as well as data with restricted access.
  • Data must be provided in the state (Uzbek) and Karakalpak languages, with abbreviated translations into other languages allowed.
  • Prior to posting information about government events, approval from the Prime Minister's press service is required.

The process for placing information on gov.uz is as follows:

  1. Press services of state authorities collect and summarize data from their structural and territorial divisions.
  2. The data is approved by the head of the authority and submitted to the operator of the Unified Platform.
  3. The operator summarizes the information and sends it for approval to the Prime Minister's press service.
  4. After approval, which must be completed within one working day, the information is posted in the relevant sections of the Unified Platform.

Meanwhile, the social media and messaging app pages of organizations remain under the management of their own press services.
