In Russia, a citizen of Uzbekistan has been detained in connection with the murder of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the troops for radiation, chemical, and biological protection, according to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
Гражданина Узбекистана арестовали в связи с делом об убийстве генерал-лейтенанта Кириллова.

For carrying out the terrorist act, he was promised $100,000 and relocation to one of the European countries for residency.

According to the investigation, the detainee was recruited by Ukrainian special services. He arrived in Moscow and obtained a homemade explosive device, which he placed on an electric scooter near the entrance of the apartment building where Kirillov lived.

To monitor the military personnel's residence, the detainee rented a car through a car-sharing service and installed a surveillance camera inside. The footage was streamed live to the organizers of the terrorist act in the city of Dnipro. After receiving the video signal indicating that the military personnel had exited the building, the explosive device was triggered remotely.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be provided later.

It is worth noting that the assassination attempt on Kirillov occurred on December 17 of this year.

Igor Kirillov was involved in the development and adoption of the heavy flamethrower system TOS-2 "Tosochka." Under his leadership, specialists from the Russian Ministry of Defense, together with NPO "Sintol," developed a set of reagents in February 2020 for detecting the RNA of the coronavirus 2019-nCoV using real-time PCR.
