On January 8th, a tragedy occurred during the day involving a group of tourists who were skiing in a prohibited area of the Kamchik Pass reserve road.
According to a source from Kun.uz, the group consisted of 8 individuals. One of them, a 31-year-old man, slipped down the slope while attempting to take a selfie from the roadside. His companion, who went down to help, also ended up under a massive snow drift. As a result, both lost their lives.
The incident took place at the 141st kilometer of the Tashkent—Andijan—Osh road, in a section designated solely for special vehicles. The fact was confirmed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Rescuers arrived at the scene upon the call of other group members. As of now, the bodies of the deceased have been recovered.
