Five citizens of Uzbekistan lost their lives in a car accident in Russia.

On December 17, a traffic accident occurred on the federal highway "Saranск-Surskое-Ulyanovsk" in the Ulyanovsk region of Russia, resulting in the deaths of five citizens of Uzbekistan. This information was reported by the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Kazan.

According to preliminary data from the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, the driver of the Cobalt vehicle lost control, veered into the oncoming lane, and collided with a MAZ truck that was traveling in the opposite direction.

"As a result of the accident, 5 individuals in the passenger car lost their lives, and the truck driver has been taken to a medical facility," the statement reads.

The consulate reported the deaths of five citizens of Uzbekistan: A. A. (born in 1977), Z. I. (born in 1988), K. S. (born in 1975), K. A. (born in 2004), and B. O. (born in 1977). Measures are being taken to return the bodies of the deceased to their homeland.
