In the Fergana region, the trade of counterfeit and unlicensed medications has been halted. This was reported by the State Security Service (SSS).
A resident of Kokand was apprehended by law enforcement officers while loading 2005 Lacetti with ampoules of the drug "Midocalm" and 750 ampoules of L-Lizin Essinat, which lacked quality certificates and documents confirming their suitability, as well as packaging boxes and instructions.
During a search of one of the houses in the "Shikorbegi" neighborhood, 1177 ampoules of "Actovegin," 165 ampoules of "Tavegil," 30 ampoules of L-Lizin Essinat, 2700 ampoules of unmarked medications, packaging boxes, usage instructions, counterfeit labels, and plastic containers with paints for labeling the medications were discovered.
It was revealed that this individual, along with an accomplice, had organized an underground workshop for the illicit production of medications.
According to the expert conclusion, the seized medications are counterfeit, and their sale and use in medical practice are prohibited in Uzbekistan. The total value of the counterfeit drugs amounted to 78 million sums.
It is noteworthy that the detained individual had previously been held accountable for producing counterfeit medications for sale. A criminal case has been initiated against him under part 2 of Article 186-3 ("Manufacturing, storage, transportation, or sale of falsified medications") of the Criminal Code, and it is currently under judicial review. Despite this, he committed another crime.
Another citizen was detained in Kokand while attempting to sell 800 ampoules of "Dufaston" without a quality certificate.
During the inspection of his home, 405,010 packages of "Elevit," "Ursosan," "Dufaston," "Yodomarin," and "Duspatalin" without quality certificates, valued at over 1 billion 800 million sums, were found, along with 5000 instructions and 1200 packaging boxes.
Operational activities revealed his connection with a previously convicted individual. During a search of his home, 900 labels for the drug "Midocalm" were found and seized in accordance with procedural rules. It also became known that he had ordered the printing of 2000 labels and instructions for the medications "Diprosan" and "Tavegil."
