In Fergana, a criminal case has been initiated against a nanny who showed cruel behavior towards a two-year-old girl in her care.
According to the children's ombudsman, on November 15, 2018, while under the nanny's supervision, the girl fell from the stairs of the house and sustained a severe injury. Despite this, the nanny endangered her life by failing to seek medical assistance. As a result, the child was diagnosed with a brain contusion and other life-threatening injuries.
Following a publication by Kun.uz on December 28, the city police department of Fergana opened a criminal case against the 37-year-old nanny M.H. under the article concerning "endangerment."
The girl's mother, 37-year-old M.G. from Fergana, moved to Russia for work in August 2024, leaving her two children—a son born in 2018 and a daughter born in 2022—under the care of nanny M.H. based on a power of attorney. She regularly transferred funds to pay for the nanny's services and the children's daily expenses.
One day, while in Russia, the mother contacted the former nanny and reported that M.H. had stopped showing her the children via Telegram and asked her to check on them. When the woman saw the children, the girl had severe injuries, and her six-year-old brother revealed that they had been subjected to abuse.
According to Gairatjon Khatamov, a doctor in the double trauma department of the RCMNP branch in Fergana, the girl's condition began to improve after treatment.
"The child was in critical condition and was placed in the pediatric intensive care unit. She was in a semi-conscious state. The girl had a large swelling on her head, and her frontal bone was broken. We removed about half a liter of stagnant blood from her head. There were clear signs of injuries on her body and head," the doctor stated.
