In Samarkand, a company embezzled electricity worth 1.8 billion sums.

In the Samarkand region, a company leader unlawfully connected mining equipment to the electrical grid, causing damage to the state amounting to 1.8 billion sums. This information was reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office.

During operational activities aimed at detecting the theft of energy resources by individuals engaged in illegal mining, a case of electricity theft was uncovered.

Specifically, the head of the family enterprise "M.G.M.", located in the "Karakuyli" neighborhood of the Ishtikhan district in the Samarkand region, unlawfully connected devices to the electrical network in the basement of the enterprise building.

As a result, 2 million kWh of electricity was illegally consumed, causing damage amounting to 1.8 billion sums.

In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated against the offender under paragraph "a" of part 4 of article 169 (theft) of the Criminal Code.
