In Tashkent, individuals attempting to circulate counterfeit banknotes totaling 60 million sums have been apprehended, according to the press service of the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office.

Law enforcement officials apprehended two individuals who were planning to sell 300 counterfeit banknotes with a face value of 200,000 sums for 20 million sums.

During a search of the Monza vehicle belonging to one of the detainees, a ruler, scissors, a utility knife, 4 fake banknotes, and 89 sheets of A4 paper printed with the national currency were discovered.

A computer and a color printer were seized as physical evidence.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 176 (manufacturing and trafficking of counterfeit money, excise stamps, or securities) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.
