The Ambassador of Uzbekistan has officially begun his duties in Luxembourg.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, Uzbekistan's Ambassador based in Brussels, Gayrat Fazilov, presented his credentials to Luxembourg's Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume (William) on January 7, as reported by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

During the ceremony, a discussion took place in which the hereditary grand duke expressed interest in strengthening the friendly relations between Luxembourg and Uzbekistan. The parties explored the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation, as reported by "Dунё".

The duke congratulated the ambassador on his appointment to this important position and assured him of his readiness to support initiatives aimed at deepening the partnership between the two countries.

Gayrat Fazilov represents Uzbekistan's interests in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, and also heads the republic's missions to the European Union and NATO. The diplomat began his duties in Brussels on December 5, 2023, after serving as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that the first accredited ambassador of Uzbekistan has commenced work in the Republic of Cyprus.
