The President of Uzbekistan and the Emir of Qatar held a phone conversation to discuss matters of strategic partnership.

Today, a phone conversation took place between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The two leaders discussed the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level and the advancement of investment projects, as reported by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

The President of Uzbekistan congratulated the Emir of Qatar on the national holiday — the Day of State Foundation — and wished health, success, and prosperity to the Qatari people.

The parties highly appreciated the outcomes of the active contacts and exchanges that took place this year. In particular, the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum were held in Doha in November, while a successful Qatar Culture Week took place in Tashkent in October.

Currently, joint projects involving leading Qatari companies are being implemented in sectors such as energy, transportation and tourism infrastructure, agriculture, and healthcare. Regular air communication has been established between Tashkent and Doha, which contributes to the development of tourism and strengthens ties between the countries.

During the conversation, special attention was given to the schedule of upcoming events for 2025, including preparations for the second summit of the dialogue "Central Asia – Cooperation Council of Arab Gulf States". The heads of state also exchanged views on pressing international issues.
