The President of Uzbekistan condemned the terrorist attack in Moscow.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, on December 19, Shavkat Mirziyoyev engaged in a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin's press service reported that the call was initiated by the Uzbek side.

During the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed condolences regarding the death of the head of the Chemical, Radiation, and Biological Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, and his assistant, Ilya Polykarpov.

"Uzbekistan firmly condemns this vile terrorist act," noted the words of Uzbekistan's leader as reported by the press service.

The heads of state also discussed relevant issues of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of continuing interaction between the special services of both countries to strengthen the fight against security challenges and threats.

It should be noted that on December 18, a 29-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan was detained in Moscow. He is suspected of committing a terrorist act that resulted in the deaths of Igor Kirillov, the head of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, and his assistant Ilya Polykarpov on December 17.
