During his speech, the president invited leading Malaysian companies and banks to actively participate in the privatization process of Uzbekistan's state assets in key sectors of the economy, including telecommunications, energy, and the banking and financial sector.
Mirziyoyev highlighted the agreements already reached regarding the start of a two-year period of innovative development for Uzbek-Malaysian partnership, as well as new growth points for cooperation. As part of the cooperation program, the countries plan to focus on joint projects in the fields of electronics, digital technologies, construction materials production, healthcare, and food security.
The forum also discussed the prospects for implementing projects in artificial intelligence, creating data centers, producing "green" hydrogen and ammonia, as well as introducing "smart" agricultural technologies. In this context, the establishment of a special economic zone managed by a Malaysian company in the Tashkent region was announced.
In conclusion, the head of state proposed to hold the next Uzbek-Malaysian business forum this autumn in Uzbekistan.
It is worth noting that Uzbekistan and Malaysia have agreed on cooperation in the fields of education, healthcare, and "smart" cities.
