Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to Podrobno.uz, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in an informal meeting of the CIS heads of state, which took place in St. Petersburg on December 25, as reported by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

The event also featured Russian President Vladimir Putin, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, and Turkmen President Serdar Berdymukhamedov.

During the meeting, the outcomes of collaborative efforts in 2024 were summarized, and priority areas for cooperation for the upcoming year were discussed. The heads of state emphasized the significance of enhancing intra-regional trade and cooperation, focusing on the removal of trade barriers.

Special attention was given to new partnership directions, including the establishment of engineering schools, the development of internet technologies, big data industry, creative economy, green energy, and peaceful atomic energy, as well as the implementation of digital solutions.

Additionally, the meeting addressed key issues of regional and international cooperation, as well as strengthening practical interaction within the CIS to counter common challenges and threats.
