Shavkat Mirziyoyev extended his condolences to the President of Azerbaijan following the plane crash in Aktau.

During a telephone conversation, the President of Uzbekistan extended heartfelt condolences to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, following the tragic loss of numerous lives in the crash of a passenger aircraft near the city of Aktau, as reported by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

"The head of our state conveyed through the leader of Azerbaijan words of heartfelt sympathy and support to the relatives and friends of the deceased, as well as wishes for a swift recovery to all those affected," the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

It is known that there were 67 passengers and 5 crew members on board the Azerbaijan Airlines flight from Baku to Grozny. Among the passengers were 37 citizens of Azerbaijan, 16 Russians, six from Kazakhstan, and three citizens of Kyrgyzstan. As a result of the incident, 38 people lost their lives, and 29 others were hospitalized.
