Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations with another African nation.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations with Somalia. The relevant document was signed on February 5 in New York by Uzbekistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ulugbek Lapasov, and Somalia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Abukar Dahir Osman, as reported by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

The Federal Republic of Somalia has become the 157th country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations.

As reported by "Dунё," both parties expressed their mutual readiness to strengthen collaboration within international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies.

They also agreed to enhance bilateral contacts to explore mutually beneficial avenues for cooperation in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian fields.

It is noted that the signing of this document represents a significant step toward intensifying Uzbekistan's engagement with African countries.

It should be recalled that Uzbekistan previously established diplomatic relations with the Bahamas.
