Uzbekistan has appointed its first accredited ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, marking a significant step in diplomatic relations.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy, Abat Faizullaev, will also represent our country in the Republic of Cyprus. Today, he met with the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, to present his credentials.

According to "Dunyo," the Cypriot leader emphasized that his country places significant importance on its relations with Uzbekistan, including within the framework of the European Union.

It is noteworthy that diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Cyprus were established on May 30, 1997. Abat Faizullayev is the first accredited ambassador of our republic to this country. Since October 2023, he has also held the position of diplomatic representative in Italy.
