Uzbekistan will expand the rights of parliamentary opposition.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, the number of guaranteed rights for parliamentary opposition in Uzbekistan will be increased from three to six. Additionally, the opposition will be assigned the roles of one committee chair and two deputy committee chairs.

A corresponding bill is expected to be developed by March 2025. Its preparation is included in the state program project for the current year.

Additionally, the opposition will be able to initiate the consideration of at least one issue during the "Government Hour."

Recall that Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to increase the number of guaranteed rights for the parliamentary opposition from three to six. This initiative was presented at the first session of the Legislative Chamber of the new convocation on November 18 of last year.
