Additionally, by the end of the year, 17 more engineering schools are set to open. This was announced during the presentation of the higher education and science program to the president on January 22.
The projects were developed at the request of the president, which he made in the summer of 2024: technical universities and advanced engineering schools are to be established in every region of the republic. Currently, technical universities are already operating in Termez, Andijan, and Karshi, along with eight engineering schools.
This year, a number of other important measures are also planned. In particular, over a thousand educational programs will be improved based on university programs from the top 300 universities. Forty-five educational programs will undergo international accreditation. Last year, more than 1,200 educational programs were aligned with foreign standards.
By 2025, the entire student body will have access to registrar office services. Currently, these services are active in 40 universities that have gained financial independence. This has allowed for a 20% reduction in the staff of deans and departments, while transitioning 30 types of services to a digital format.
This year, an additional 50,000 students will be involved in dual education. Five thousand teachers will have the opportunity to enhance their qualifications abroad.
