Abdusalam Azizov has stepped down as president of the AFU.

On February 22, an extraordinary congress of the Uzbekistan Football Association will be held, during which a new president of the organization will be elected.

According to the association's charter, until the congress takes place, the responsibilities of the president of the UFA have been assigned to the first vice president, Ravshan Irmatov.

It is worth noting that since 2019, the president of the Uzbekistan Football Association has been the former head of the National Security Service, Abdusalom Azizov. In November of last year, A. Azizov was transferred to the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan.
