Afruza Hamdamova has become a two-time world chess champion.

A chess player from Uzbekistan has once again etched her name in the country's history by clinching her second world youth championship title.

At the ongoing FIDE World Championship for girls under 16 in Brazil, 15-year-old Afruza secured an early victory, accumulating 9.5 points in 10 games (9 wins and 1 draw).
It’s worth noting that last year Afruza became the world champion among girls under 14, making her the first female chess player from Uzbekistan to win a world title. Today, she has solidified her achievement by becoming a two-time world champion and continuing her impressive winning streak.
