The IV Asian Youth Games, originally scheduled to take place in 2025 in Tashkent, have been relocated to Bahrain. This was announced by the press service of the Olympic Council of Asia.
This decision was made during an Executive Council meeting on December 2 of this year. The reason for the relocation has not been specified.
It is worth noting that in December 2020, the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported signing an agreement with the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia to host the 2025 Asian Games in Tashkent. It was anticipated that around 5,000 guests would arrive in the country for this major event. Later, this information was removed from the official website of the NOC.
Construction of an Olympic Village spanning 100 hectares also commenced for the events. At the beginning of September, the president reviewed the progress of the construction of the complex.
