A new chairman has been elected for the Uzbekistan Swimming Federation.

The position was taken by the head of the Federation of Trade Unions.

The Swimming Federation of Uzbekistan held an extraordinary reporting and election conference, during which a new chairman was elected, reports the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
The candidacy of the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, Rafikov Kudratilla Mirsagatovich, was nominated for the position of head of the Swimming Federation. The delegates present at the event unanimously approved this candidacy.
During the event, the Federation's plan for preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics was thoroughly reviewed, and discussions were held regarding the recruitment of qualified foreign coaches for the national teams, as well as placing greater emphasis on the careful selection of talented athletes.
Additionally, the possibilities for Uzbek athletes to obtain Olympic licenses in swimming, water polo, diving, and synchronized swimming were explored.
It is worth noting that the former head of the Swimming Federation, Kuvondik Sanokulov, left his position due to taking up another job. He has assumed leadership of the Handball Federation.
